Silverside was last in his first race in the Meydan racecourse this year, a Gr. 3 race over 1,900 m. In his first race since the Premio Hispanidad, back in October 10th, his jockey Julien Grosjean kept him from going for the lead from the beginning and for most of the first half of the race (perhaps thinking 1,900 were somewhat long for him). Although he entered the home stretch in the middle of the pack, he didn't show any danger.
Here is the race: Al Maktoum Challenge R2 Sponsored by Etisalat. Silverside comes from the otermost gate, body in yellow and blue checker and yellow cap.
The race was won by favourite Bold Silvano (SAF), with Christophe Soumillon. Second was Spring of fame (USA) and Interaction (ARG) finished third.
