Mil Azul wins the GP de Andalucía in Dos Hermanas

Mil Azul (SPA, 2008) [Russian Blue-Cuittled(Charismatic)] won last Sunday the GP de Andalucía (1,600 m, 4yo+, 16,000 euros), ridden by J. L. Borrego for trainer J. L de Salas and Cuadra Urdiñ-Oriya. Rubens (SPA, 2005) [Fragrant Well-Sodoma] was second, for a Spanish breds 1-2. Tashqeel was third and Baronía was fourth.


Mil Azul has now 14 starts with 6 wins and 7 placings and has won in three Spanish racetracks: Madrid, San Sebastián and Dos Hermanas. He won the Criterium Nacional at two and was 4th in the Premio Cimera and second to Abdel in the Premio Antonio Blasco at three.

In the 1,800 m race for 3yo fillies, the winner was Pompon Coeur (Green Tune-Villa Sonata), owned by Cuadra Saf Saf, trained by F. Rodríguez and ridden by Julien Grosjean, beating Veleza (Fragrant Wells) by a length with Santillana (Visindar) third far behind. Santillana is half sister to Mil Azul.
