Bottega (USA) wins in Tarbes (France), Silverside (USA) unplaced in Gr.2

Bottega (USA, 2007) [Mineshaft-Sun is Up(Sunday Silence)], now targeting 1,400-1,600 after a 3 yo season competing at the highest level in Spain in 2,400 races, who was a good fourth in the Premio Habitancum, won last Sunday a 1,500 m turf race in Tarbes, the Prix de la Ville de Lourdes, (Cat. D, 4 yo+) carrying the top weight of 61 kg. Bottega is owned by Cuadra Madroños and trained by M. Delcher S. His jockey was D. Morrisson.

Bottega is half brother to Sunday Sunrise (colt, USA, 2006) [Lemon Drop Kid] winner of the Zia Park Veteran Stakes in New Mexico and 168,607 USD and is also half brother to Solita (filly, USA, 2004) [Thunder Gulch], winner of the GP de la Hispanidad, and second in the Premio Gobierno Vasco and third in the GP Claudio Carudel. Solita has a 2 yo filly in training, by Diamond Green.

The third dam of Bottega is... Miesque.

Meanwhile, Silverside (USA) an old friend and star of many posts of this blog, was unplaced in the Prix du Muguet (France, Gr.2), a 1,600 race for 4y/o+ in Saint Cloud.

Silverside and Bottega will probably run in the Premio Claudio Carudel, a 1,600 m race for 3 yo+ in June in Madrid.
