The main race of this Sunday meeting in La Zarzuela is the Premio Corpa, a 3,000 m race for 4 y/o+. This year's edition has only 6 partants, with two main favourites:
Entre Copas (GB, 2004) [Sakhee-Priena(Priolo)] a chestnut gelding, won the last edition of the Mijas Cup, is owned by Cuadra Africa and trained by J. M. Osorio and will be ridden by J. Croquevieille.
Karluv Most (FR, 2006) [Della Francesca-La Vlatava], a bay colt, is the top stayer of Spain and winner of the GP Madrid 2010 and the GP Memorial Duque de Toledo 2010. His comeback was disappointing, however. He is owned by Cuadra Cholaica and trained by J. L. Maroto and will have Oscar Ortiz de Urbina aboard.
The other partants are:
Duke (GER, 2006) [Second Set-Deborah] a bay gelding, stablemate of Karluv Most, owned by Cuadra Cholaica and trained by J. L. Maroto
Red Barcelona (IRE, 2007) [Indian Haven-Purepleasureseeker] a chestnut colt owned by Cuadra Castillo de Chareta, trained by J. Martel that will be ridden by F. Alvarado.
Special Galileo (IRE, 2006) [Galileo-Special Oasis] trained by A. Sánchez, owned by Cuadra Alisares, will have J. Grosjean aboard.
Montyaar (FR, 2007) [Montjeu-Ikhteyaar] a bay filly, was second to Casaca in her only race in Spain to date. Owned by Cuadra Ussía Figueroa, trained by G. Arizkorreta, will be ridden by J.L. Borrego.
The Premio Corpa is a traditional race, run since 1944. Last year, the winner was Bannaby (FR)
Meanwhile, the third race (a 1,600 m race) will include among its partants Ercolini and As de Trébol
