Australia Day (IRE, 2003), gray gelding [Key of Luck-Atalina(Linamix)], owned by Skippty & TP, trained by P. Webber won the GP de San Sebastián (2,800 m, 3yo+, 18,000 euros for the winner) last Sunday, ridden by Oscar Ortiz de Urbin, in the last meeting of the San Sebastian summer season.
Casar (IRE, 2008), ch. gelding [Hurricane Run-Thoroughly(Woodman)], owned by Cuadra Medreal, trained by M. Delcher S, and ridden by V, Janacek, was 2nd, Achtung (SPA, 2008), a bay colt [Sulamani-Aurea(Silvano)], owned by Cuadra Enalto, trained by Roberto López. and ridden by J. Grosjean finished 3rd and Tsarabi (IRE, 2005), bay colt [Hernando-Veronica Cooper(Kahyasi)], owned by Cuadra Eva, trained by A. Imaz, was 4th.
Giggolo Star and Dansico commanded the race at the begining but, at the first pass thorugh the finish line, Australia Day was already leading the race and he was comfortable until the end, winning easily by four lengths. Casar did a chaotic late charge to be second, 4 lengths ahead of Achtung, who, in turn left Tsarabi 4 lengths behind. Entre Copas, winner of the 2011 edition, was fifth
Australia Day was third in the Copa de Oro won by Pazifizsturm.
The owner of Australia Day bought last Saturday the top lot of the Dehesa de Milagro yearling sale.

In the rest of the meeting, there was the Dehesa de Milagro sale race, a 1,400 m race for 2yo sold at the 2011 Milagro sale, with a purse of 30,000 euros for the winner.
The race was won by French raider Show Gorb (SPA, 2010), a bay filly by Caradak and Triple Two(Pivotal)), owned by Claude Uzan and trained and ridden by P. Sogorb. She came from behind to surpass Lolita Pluma (Kheleyf), Briseida (Keltos) and Hizun (Halling).

There was also the Premio European Breeder's Fund, a 1,600 m race for 3yo+ fillies, and it was won by Baronia (SPA, 2007), bay filly [Bahhare-Lonia(Royal Academy)], owned by Cuadra L'Etoile, trained by J. L. de Salas, who was ridden by Vaclav Janacek and beat by 1 3/4 lengths New Order (Multazem), with Bellaside (La Vie dei Colori) third and Silent Victory (Silent Times) 4th.
Disappointing performances of Irish Cliff (Marju) and Ketala (Gold Away).
Baronia already won this race and 2011 and won this summer the Premio Kutxa (main race for 3y+ fillies) on 2,200 m

Results of the Dehesa de MIlagro yearling sale
The top price of the Dehesa de Milagro yearling sale held yesterday at San Sebastian was paid for Lot 44, a filly by Sakhee and Doohulla (Stravinsky),. half sister to Spanish Oaks winner Clunia and to Gr. 3 winner in France, Xanadou. She reached 48,000 euros
The second highest (45,000 euros) was realized by Lot 54, a bay colt by Sir Percy and Got to Go (Shareef Dancer), who is hals brother to Spanish Derby winner Ayanz
Lot 57, a bay colt by Green Tune and Ishi Adiva (Ishuguru) was sold in 31,000 euros
Next higher price was lot 22 (30,000 euros), a bay colt by Halling and Sleeping Storm (Danehill Dancer)
Lot 31, a bay filly by Le Havre and Alyousufeya(Kingmambo), was sold for 28,000 euros.
Only 4 lots received no bids and the overall results can be considered very good.

Dehesa de Milagro yearling sale, Saturday 8 Sept 2012, San Sebastián racetrack
The Dehesa de Milagro will hold its annual yearling sale at the San Sebastián racetrack next Saturday September 8th. There is a total of 54 lots (after withdrawals and additions), by stallions Amadeus Wolf, Aussie Rules, Bluegrass Cat, Caradak, Country Reel, Diktat, Doctor Dino, Dutch Art, Dyhim Diamond, Green Tune, Halling, Keltos, Kheleyf, Leadership, Le Havre, Multiplex, Observatory, Pivotal, Pyrus, Sakhee, Shirocco, Sir Percy and Visindar
Some of the lots are:
Lot 1 is a bay filly by Pyrus and Johanie Cara (Johan Quatz). Johanie Cara was 3rd in the Beamonte (Oaks) and in the GP de Madrid.
Lot 16 is a bay filly by Sakhee and Poliaurea(Poliglote). Poliaurea won the Clásico Diego White - G3 in Argentina.
Lot 29 is a bay filly by Pyrus and Abril (Anabaa). Abril won the Premio Kutxa and was 2nd in the Premio Valderas (1000 Guineas) and 3rd in the Beamonte (Oaks).
Lot 37 is a bay colt by Pyrus and Bright and Early (Cadeaux Generaux), own brother to Adjuge (winner of the Gran Critérium)

Summer season 2011 for San Sebastián announced
The manager of the San Sebastián racecourse (at Lasarte) has announced the summer season of this year, that has, as its major novelty, four meetings through an agreement with the French PMU, meaning that the PMU will offer bettings in these four days of racing (August 11, 15 and 25 and September 7).
This will give a total of 14 days of races (up from 12 last year) with a total of 74 races. The days will be:
July: Sundays 10, 17, 24, 31
August: 7, 11 (Thursday), 15 (Monday), 21, 25 (Thursday), 28
September: 1 (Thursday), 4, 7 (Wednesday), 11
All meetings will be broadcasted by TV (TVE, Equidia - the PMU meetings - or La 10).
